Nikolaus Vavrovsky is partner at Vavrovsky Heine Marth Rechtsanwälte. Several recognized legal directories recommend him as one of the leading Austrian experts in litigation and real estate. Nikolaus started working as a lawyer in 2000. As a litigation and alternative dispute resolution expert he specializes in particular in shareholder litigation and disputes regarding banking & finance, construction as well as corporate recovery and restructuring. As a member of the Austrian Arbitration Association (ArbAut), the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS) and Association Suisse de l’Arbitrage (ASA), he successfully represents clients not only before public courts but also in alternative dispute resolution proceedings, especially before national and international tribunals such as VIAC, ICC and ad-hoc tribunals and often acts as arbitrator. Furthermore, he focuses on real estate and project development, corporate recovery and restructuring as well as M&A transactions.
After receiving his PhD in law from the University of Salzburg in 1998, Nikolaus graduated in European and International Business Law (M.B.L.-HSG) at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland in the same year. In 2017, he completed the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Arbitration, jointly offered by the University Lucerne and the University of Neuchâtel in cooperation with the Swiss Arbitration Academy (SAA), with an award classification of “excellent”.
Before establishing the practice of Vavrovsky Heine Marth Rechtsanwälte, he was partner at Herbst Vavrovsky Kinsky Rechtsanwälte and PHHV Prochaska Heine Havranek Vavrovsky Rechtsanwälte.
Nikolaus regularly holds lectures on contract and corporate law was well as legal issues connected with banking and private foundations.
